  Nocturnal

by
John Di Rosa

I met a woman
one night in my dream
the poets laughed
and society screamed
her skin was pale
and her demeanor false
her eyes belched fire
her touch repulsed
I left my reason
behind in the void
we soared together
through infinite joys
I did not waken
for I was consumed
Her name was insanity
Her love was doomed
