  Eternal

by
Miguel Lopez de Leon

Eternal child, possessed in fire and darkness
Against her screeching, siren mother,
A newly attempted assassin
A bloody holocaust, in a pink, cushioned room
And a little girl
Burying her unrecognizable parent
In an obliteration of power
A tidal wave of shadow and hell

After that forgotten night
She was reborn

The forever pitied orphan
The tragic little girl
The poor, abandoned daughter
The terrifying doll

Forever young
Forever mystery
Forever . . . watching

Always guarding
Always grasping
Her pretty, silver stone
